Scarce Indian Mutiny Period Peaked Forage Cap of the 14th Light Dragoons with Original White Cloth Cover and Neck Flap, fine example of an early 1855 period peaked forage cap with thick band of regimental pattern lace, bullion wire piping to the crown, knotted top and bullion cord decoration to the crown. Squared leather peak with bullion wire. Thin patent chinstrap, brown leather sweatband and quilted crimson lining. What makes this cap very rare is that it is complete with the original white cloth cover for wear in hot weather and the original neck flap.
