BURMA - 1s-1d RATE COVER ADDRESSED TO AN AUSTRIAN SHIP VIA RANGOON; Unusual 19 May 1870 EL (worn edges and slight toning but with interesting contents about sailing ships no longer having any freight due to the steamers taking everything via the Suez Canal, etc.) to "August Baron de Akermann, Austrian Ship Marietta M" care of a firm in Rangoon (fair red backstamp), routed "Via Marseilles" franked by 1867 1/- Green (pl.4; SG115/J104) + 1d Red (pl.107) tied by mainly fine "LIVERPOOL/466" Duplexes for the scarce and short-lived 1s-1d rate, with a very fine blue-grey oval Aden-Bombay "SEA POST OFFICE" backstamp (29 May).
