1929 INSURRECTION - RARE FLOWN COVER: 4 Dec. 1928 from Par, Cornwall to Col. Sir Francis Humphreys - the British Minister, Resident, Kabul. Back stamped Peshawar 24 Dec. 1928. The legation was under siege at this time, being hit by 62 shells and countless small arms rounds. On 23 Dec. the women & children were smuggled out, in darkness, to the aerodrome, the cover having been carried by the RAF. A very rare item.
