William KWAKU AMØ is a well known artist with works sold into the hundreds.
William KWAKU AMØ creates paintings which delves into his emotions, African heritage, urban culture, curiosity of humankind with contemporary elements. Amø's works places greater emphasis on texture and symbolism, featuring vibrant colours with a mixture of figurative and abstraction. Amø learnt the art of call and response rhythms, as a young boy in Ghana which created a unique spiritual connection and cultural symbiosis. Similarly, he believes that this spiritual connection is present in his art. Through his spontaneous expression of abstraction, he calls out to his audience, inviting them to experience a range of emotions and engaging in subjective responses, fostering a web of dialogue about his artwork. The process of mark making and painting, transports Amø through different realms of expressionism. Evoking a trance-like state that awakens a youthful explosion within, reminiscent of the days of call and response. Amø has exhibited his work in solo and group exhibitions in Dublin, London and Paris.
