Manchester Regiment Aged 34 years, Died of wounds received in Action in France October 6. 1917 whilst serving with the Expeditionary Forces in the Great European War", followed by a two verse poem and "From his sorrowing wife Katie" and an adddress in Salford, together with a WWI medal awarded to 14141 Pte. J. Sloan L.N. Lanc. R, a damaged WWI postcard and an Imperial War Graves Commission request for payment for the headstone inscription for Pte. A.
