Maples & Co., London, a fine late 19th century satinwood three train musical longcase clock, the 12" chased gilt brass arched dial with applied silvered chapter ring, gilt Aesthetic Movement numerals, subsidiary seconds dial, chime/silent and Westminster/Whittington chime dials. The high quality movement with eight bells and musical drum, four gongs and separate hour gong, the arched hood with bevelled glass and reeded columns, the trunk with reeded columns and applied mouldings, key, pendulum and three different weights, 232cm.
The movement is in working order, all functions work and sound true, it has not been serviced for many years and would benefit from cleaning, the dial is in very good condition, believed totally original finish, the hood has split on the arched top, see images, there is the odd small small moulding missing and crack, please check images. The clock had not run for many years and when we assembled it it started without any coaxing.
