AN EARLY GEORGE III SILVER LIDDED TANKARD

maker I*M, London 1765, of baluster form, the hinged domed cover with pierced scroll-form thumbpiece, double-scroll handle, the body with reeded girdle, raised on a stepped circular foot. 19.5cm high, 30 troy ounces



Well marked to the cover and base. Erasure to the front and a small crease as a result of thinning. The hinge is in good condition, and the cover closes well. Stands upright and does not rock.
