A Vic 1831 pattern General officer's sword, slightly curved, flat blade 32½", by F.W. Flight, Winchester, etched on both sides in panels with crowned VR cypher, and crossed baton and sword with wreaths above and below, regulation hilt with ornamental crossguard and langets incorporating crossed baton and sword in wreath, semi pistol grip with rosette studs, hole for knot, and ornamental backstrap, in its brass scabbard (dented at point) with 2 ornamental bands and rings. GC, the blade VGC, retaining virtually all original polish (tiny chip to one grip, traces only of gilt to hilt). Plate 3
