Scottish longcase : ' Rob Knox , Paisley ' ( 1820-37 , GH Baillie ) a fine mahogany inlaid case longcase clck, with silvered chapter ring on a 13'' breakarch engraved brass dial , with applied cherub head spandrels and Georgian Dolphins to breakarch (flanking name boss ) , seconds dial at 12, and calendar aperture at 6 , Roman Numeral hour markers and Arabic minute markers before an 8 day movement striking on a bell, the hood with petalled rosettes , swan neck pediment, column sides to front and 1/4 columns to rear, 1/4 columns to trunk, long trunk door, etc and standing 92 1/4'' high on integral ogee feet. Formerly from Earlshall Castle , Fife , Scotland , though written provenance survives. Comes via family
