An interesting and impressive dark red leather jewellery chest, the hinged top applied with gilt brass circular plaque inscribed with the monogram of Napoleon Bonaparte's second wife Marie Louise, enclosing three removable felt lined trays, 31cm high x 43.5cm wide x 27cm deep, the whole enclosed within a fine quality tan leather travel case.
Marie Louise (1791-1847), Duchess of Parma was Empress of France and Queen of Italy, she was the eldest child of Francis II, Holy Roman Emperor and Emperor of Austria.
