Local Interest, The Talbot Family - an family archive collection, compiled by Major Anthony Crofton (1908-1973), Registrar of the H.M. Office of Arms between 1936-1939 at Dublin Castle, later Assistant to the Deputy Ulster King of Arms, and a brother-in-law of John Chetwynd-Talbot, 21st Earl of Shrewsbury (1914-1980), via the latter’s first wife Nadine (née Crofton-Atkins; 1913-2003), comprising approx. 75 files and 1 archive box of typed biographical notes, genealogical transcripts, and family pedigrees of the Talbot and their various branches, including the houses of Hensol and Ingestre, the whole dynasty starting in the High Middle Ages and culminating with Charles Chetwynd-Talbot, 19th Earl of Shrewsbury (whose file was unfinished), some ink MS transcripts from earlier muniments, etc., [archive collection]
