A group of three medals awarded to Private C.G. McKibben, service number 905162, of the 49th Battalion, Canadian Infantry (Alberta Regiment), includes two First World War service medals: the British War Medal (1914–1918) and the Victory Medal (1914–1919), both bearing the same service number and accompanied by their original ribbons. Also included is a sterling silver Memorial Cross ("Mother’s Cross") issued in remembrance of Private C.G. McKibben. Weight of silver 12.97 grams.

Private Charles George McKibben was born on September 2, 1894, the son of Alex and Jane McKibbin of Balcunnin, Skerries, County Dublin, Ireland. He served with the Canadian Expeditionary Force and died at the age of 23. His name is commemorated on Page 285 of the First World War Book of Remembrance.
