A WM Maurice Ltd Sheffield Brass and Steel Miners Safety Lamp
A single industrial miners safety lamp constructed primarily from steel and brass components. The lamp features a dark, tapered metal hood above a central section protected by silver-toned vertical struts. The light source area is enclosed by a fine black wire mesh screen. The base consists of a silver-toned metal reservoir, topped by a heavy brass retaining ring. The brass components show heavy patina and tarnishing consistent with age and use. The main brass retaining ring is stamped or engraved with the text: LAMP CO (WM MAURICE) LTD SHEFFIELD.
