g George IV (1820-30), gold Half-Sovereign, 1824, first laureate head left, B.P. for Benedetto Pistrucci below neck, legend and toothed border surrounding, GEORGIUS IIII D: G: BRITANNIAR: REX F:D:, rev. second crowned quartered shield of arms, with a crowned escutcheon of the Arms of Hanover, emblems below, ANNO to left, 1824 to right (Hill 405 R2; Bull EGC 992; MCE.484; S.3803). Lightly toned, a few surface marks and nicks mainly on neck, graded by NGC as MS63, only 13x finer graded examples across both NGC and PCGS.

NGC Certification 8221207-021We note as of May 2025 that NGC has graded 134x examples, of which only 13x are finer; PCGS have graded 12x, of which this is the finest.Calendar year mintage of 591,538.The Latin legends translates on obverse as George the Fourth by the Grace of God, King of the Britons, Defender of the Faith, and on reverse as in the year 1824.
