A Japanese Meiji period (1868-1912) gilt bronze koro with cover on stand, with mythical beast to domed cover, the koro with removable twin handles in the form of a root vegetable with rat, the body with two panels, one with two seated figures, the other of flowers and butterflies, on a separate foliate cast and pierced base with three integral sections, height 30.5cm
