1.1
H&H Auctioneers acts as Auctioneer. The Vendor is the person instructing the Auctioneer to sell goods on their behalf. The Purchaser is the person who has successfully bid on and acquired goods at auction.

Bidding

2.1
All bidders must register their full name and address prior to the sale. Proof of identification may be required. By placing a bid, the Purchaser confirms they have read and accepted these Terms and Conditions.

2.2
The Auctioneer reserves the right to refuse any bid. The highest bidder at the fall of the hammer shall be deemed the Purchaser.

2.3
The Auctioneer may execute commission bids on behalf of buyers as a convenience. Whilst every effort will be made, the Auctioneer accepts no liability for failure to execute such bids.

2.4
In the event of identical commission bids, the earliest received will take precedence. All bids must state a maximum value. Unlimited bids will not be accepted.

2.5
Buyers are strongly advised to attend viewing. All bids are placed on the understanding that the Purchaser has satisfied themselves as to the condition and description of the lot. All bids are made at the Purchaser’s risk.

2.6
All lots are sold as seen, with all faults, imperfections, and errors of description. The Auctioneer makes no warranties as to authenticity, age, condition, or quality.

2.7
Commission bids must be received no later than 10am on the day of the sale unless otherwise agreed.

2.8
Telephone and absentee bids are accepted entirely at the bidder’s risk. The Auctioneer accepts no responsibility for any failure due to communication or technical issues.

Buyer’s Premium

3.1
A buyer’s premium of £2 per lot or 20 percent of the hammer price, whichever is greater, is payable on all lots.

3.2
Additional fees may apply when bidding via third-party platforms including Easy Live Auction. These charges are set by the platform and are payable by the Purchaser.

3.3
No VAT is currently payable on the hammer price, buyer’s premium, or postage.

Admittance

4.1
H&H Auctioneers reserves the right to refuse admission to its premises at its discretion.

Buying

5.1
The Auctioneer has absolute discretion in resolving disputes and may re-offer any lot.

5.2
The Auctioneer may bid on behalf of the Vendor up to any reserve price.

5.3
No goods may be removed until full payment has been received and cleared. Risk passes to the Purchaser at the fall of the hammer.

5.4
All lots must be collected within 7 days of the sale unless otherwise agreed. Storage charges may apply thereafter.

5.5
The Auctioneer shall not be liable for any loss or damage once a lot has been sold.

5.6
Late payments may incur additional charges. Failure to pay may result in cancellation of the sale, resale of the lot, and recovery of any associated losses and costs.

5.7
Bidding at auction constitutes a legally binding contract.

Postage & Shipping

6.1
H&H Auctioneers offers an in-house postage and packing service on selected items. This service is provided at the Auctioneer’s discretion.

6.2
All items are shipped at the buyer’s risk.

6.3
Postage costs vary depending on size, weight, and value. Fragile and oversized items may incur additional charges.

6.4
The Auctioneer reserves the right to decline shipping of items deemed too fragile, large, or unsuitable for safe transit.

6.5
We aim to dispatch items within 3–5 working days following receipt of cleared payment.

6.6
International shipping is not currently offered.

Selling

7.1
Settlement to Vendors is normally made within 7 days of the sale, subject to cleared funds being received from the Purchaser.

7.2
The Auctioneer acts as agent only and is not liable for default by the Purchaser.

7.3
Vendors warrant that they have good title to all goods consigned for sale.

7.4
Unsold lots must be collected within 3 days unless otherwise agreed. The Auctioneer reserves the right to re-offer or dispose of uncollected items.

8.1
H&H Auctioneers reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions at any time.

Liability

9.1
Members of the public enter the premises at their own risk. The Auctioneer shall not be liable for injury, loss, or damage unless caused by negligence.

9.2
Vehicles are parked on-site at the owner’s risk.

Condition Reports

10.1
Condition reports are available upon request and are provided as guidance only. Buyers must satisfy themselves as to condition prior to bidding.
Postage, Packing & Shipping Terms

H&H Auctioneers provides an in-house postage and packing service for selected lots as a convenience to buyers. This service is offered at the sole discretion of H&H Auctioneers and is subject to the terms set out below.

All items are shipped strictly at the buyer’s risk.

Shipping Price Guide (UK Mainland)

Up to 1kg – £11.95
1–2kg – £13.95
2–5kg – £17.95
5–10kg – £24.95
10–20kg – £39.95

These charges include packaging materials, labour, and standard courier delivery.

Oversized, Heavy & Specialist Items

Items that are large, heavy, fragile, or of an unusual shape may exceed standard courier limits and may incur additional charges.

Buyers are strongly advised to contact us prior to payment if they believe their item may fall into this category.
Where applicable, a bespoke packing and shipping quotation will be provided.

Fragile & High-Risk Items

Fragile items including, but not limited to, glass, ceramics, pottery, and delicate antiques:

May require additional packing materials and handling
May incur a fragile packing surcharge
Are shipped entirely at the buyer’s risk

Whilst every effort is made to pack items carefully and professionally, H&H Auctioneers accepts no liability for damage sustained in transit unless specific insurance has been requested and agreed in writing prior to dispatch.

Refusal of Shipping

H&H Auctioneers reserves the right to decline to pack and or ship any item deemed:

Too fragile
Too large or heavy
Insufficiently robust for safe transit

In such cases, buyers will be required to arrange collection or a third-party courier.

General Conditions

Postage charges include packing materials, labour, and administration
Packing methods and materials are determined solely by H&H Auctioneers
H&H Auctioneers reserves the right to select the most appropriate courier for each shipment
Whilst we will endeavour to combine multiple lots where possible, this cannot be guaranteed
All goods are handled and packed to a professional standard
Risk and responsibility transfers to the buyer once items are handed to the courier
H&H Auctioneers is not liable for delays, loss, or damage caused by third-party carriers
Enhanced packaging and transit insurance are available upon request at additional cost
Insurance is not included unless specifically requested and agreed in writing prior to dispatch

Dispatch

Items will not be dispatched until full payment including postage and packing has been received and cleared
Items are normally dispatched within 3–5 working days
Dispatch times may be extended during busy auction periods

Shipping Requests

Buyers must request postage within 7 days of the auction
Items not requested within this timeframe may be treated as uncollected

International Shipping

We do not currently offer international shipping
