Max Blackmore has over 35 years experience in the auction business and is a qualified Chartered Antiques and Arts Surveyor. After working in London and Yorkshire, he moved to Cheshire in 1982, establishing his own company in Wilmslow, holding regular auctions at the local rugby club. The auctions proved very popular and successful.
Maxwells have now taken the opportunity of acquiring their own permanent saleroom in Levens Road, Hazel Grove which will provide a more efficient service to both vendors and buyers alike. The saleroom is easily accessible from all areas – it is close to motorway -M60 & M56 – and rail networks and has a good car park.
Maxwells are a local family firm and are able to tailor their service to meet their clients’ requirements. They are helped by an excellent team of friendly staff. If you have never been to an auction before or are not sure what is involved entering items into an auction, they will be pleased to help and offer guidance.
We are delighted to announce that Tom Blackmore has recently joined his father in the firm. Tom graduated from Leeds Met University two years ago having studied TV and Film Production. He then worked for Waterstones and gained valuable retail experience, not to mention a good knowledge of books! Tom is based mainly at the saleroom at present, managing incoming lots and photography.
