Bidding in Person
If you wish to bid at the sale, you will need a bidding number. This can be obtained by completing a Buyer's Registration Form and handing it in at reception. All intending purchasers should ensure they fully understand the TERMS & CONDITIONS OF SALES.
If you are unable to attend the sale, you can instruct us to bid on your behalf. Please complete a Commission Bidding Form and hand it in at the saleroom. All commission bids must be received by 9.30 a.m. on the day of the sale. They will be executed as cheaply as possible, bearing in mind any reserve prices or other bids. Island Auction Rooms take no responsibility for failure to execute bids for any reason.
Online bidding is available at INVALUABLE.COM where you will be able to register and leave bids or bid live during the auction. Please be advised there is an extra charge for this service.
A premium of 14% (+VAT) will be added to the hammer price of all lots purchased.
You must pay for your purchases no later than 5pm Thursday of sale week. We accept cash and all major debit and credit cards. Cheques are not accepted as current payment; if you wish to pay by cheque it must be on the understanding that goods will only be released by us when the funds are secure in our account.
1. Sterling cheque. To be drawn on a UK bank and made payable to 'ISLAND AUCTION ROOMS'. It will be necessary to allow at least five working days for the cheque to clear before collecting your purchases
2. Bank transfer. All transfers must state the relevant name. If transferring from a foreign currency, the amount we receive must be the total due in pounds sterling (after currency conversion and the deduction of any bank charges).
3. Debit cards drawn on a UK bank. There is no additional charge for purchases made with these cards. Debit cards drawn on an overseas bank or deferred debit cards / credit cards will be subject to a 2% surcharge.
4. Sterling cash. Payments of up to £8,000 can be made at the office.
When making a payment directly into our account, you must pay in pounds sterling, cover any bank charges and use your name as a reference.
In order to avoid delay in clearing purchases, buyers unknown to ISLAND AUCTION ROOMS are advised to make arrangements for payment prior to the sale. If prior arrangements are not made, cheques will be cleared before purchases are made available for collection. On card payments supporting ID may be required.

Successful bidders should collect their lots as soon as possible after the sale, and by no later than the 5pm Thursday of sale week . Should this not be possible you must inform us of the fact. We do offer a delivery service and will need notification straight after the sale. NO GOODS WILL BE ISSUED DURING THE SALE.
Whilst the responsibility for the collection of a purchase(s) rests with the buyer, we are pleased to offer a packing and postal service of smaller items and quotes can be obtained once goods have been paid for.
