Consular Service: c.1887 75c on 8d lilac and red, spectacular imperforate block of EIGHTY FOUR, showing composite trial setting at upper left of six different surcharge types, each stamp handstamped ‘SPECIMEN’ type 9, with an additional impression in right margin. Creasing, gum wrinkles and a couple of tones as would be expected from an archive piece of this type, still a highly desirable item, certainly the largest multiple remaining from the one trial sheet produced, and unique in this form.
