A 19th century enamel and paste locket. The oval-shape painted enamel portrait miniature, depicting a woman in powdered wig with rose-cut diamond accent jewellery inset, to the cushion-shape paste surround and surmount, with glazed reverse. Length 5.4cms. Total weight 18.4gms.

  • Overall condition good. Some surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear.
  • Diamonds well matched.
  • Estimated total diamond weight under 0.10ct.

  • Individual size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment.

  • Enamel panel in good condition with one small, moderately deep surface scratch. Panel presumed on copper.
  • Surmount is detachable. Repair/alteration to surmount fitting.
  • Paste with moderate abrasion, nicks and small chips. Discolouration to foil backing.
  • Piece appears predominently silver with fine layer of gold on reverse.
