A good early 19th Century sarcophagus shaped Vizagapatam ivory Work Box, flower shaped handle above decoration of fruiting vines and leaves etc., the hinged lid (with interior compartment) opening to reveal fitted interior and a removable tray, complete with an interesting array and variety of sewing accoutrements and other items within etc., including old correspondence, raised on four gadrooned bun style feet (full width crack to underside of sandalwood base and some thin ivory sections away to lid extremities, 25cm wide, illustrated inside front cover
