A 1960 Cotton Cougar trials, registration number 889 XVD, engine number 544B/305, Maroon/aluminium. Founded in 1919 by FW Cotton in Gloucester, the Cotton machines were known in the 1920s and 30s for their triangulated construction frames powered by JAP and Blackburn engines. They found some success on the track including winning the prestigious Junior TT at the IOM in 1923 . After WWII they continued producing both competition and road bikes featuring Villiers and Anzani two stoke engines finding further competition success in both trials and scrambles. This road registered Cougar is presented in restored condition and features a rebuilt Villiers 9E engine, a bespoke aluminium fuel tank, aluminium front and rear mudguards and high level exhaust. Said to be running well the Cougar will be offered for auction with a current MOT even though it does not legally require one and a V5C. This well presented twin shock trials is now ready for the next owner to enjoy both in competition and on the road. V5C , MOT to January 2020, tax exempt See illustration
