A 1971 Morgan 4/4 Competition, registration number BDU 777K, Jaguar squadron blue. This rare factory Competition 4/4 with aluminium body (steel wings) was built to special order and is said by our vendor to be in superb condition. It has its original Ford 1600 cross flow (Kent) engine lightly tuned with gas flowed cylinder head by Peter Burgess, roller rocker shaft with Bosch electronic ignition and Cosworth coil, now giving around 100bhp and mated to a Ford Type 9 (5 speed) gearbox. The car is fitted with an alloy radiator, oil cooler with thermostat and oil temperature gauge, auxiliary electric water pump and silicone hoses. Coolant is Evans Classic 180. New Michelin XZX tyres and Koni adjustable rear shock absorbers have been fitted. The car spent its early years in France until being totally restored by Vic Champness (Black Phey Morgan’s) on a new galvanised chassis in 2000. The aluminium body is beautifully finished in Jaguar squadron blue which complements the dark blue leather upholstery. Equipped with a tonneau and ***a hood which has been patched, it is not as new*** the car is said to be in very good condition having been fastidiously maintained and much loved since restoration.
Having had only three previous owners since being acquired by our vendor a Morgan owner of many Years standing to add to his collection with the intention of using it on Continental tours. Unfortunately due to his advancing years he has taken the decision to sell. The Morgan will be offered with a comprehensive history file, an original owners manual side screens, side screen bag etc. V5C, MOT and tax exempt See illustrations
