A 19th century ink manuscript commonplace book, dated 1845, 'topsy-turvy' inscribed with 102pp of selections from belles-lettres and our author's musings, prefixed by an index 3pp, the verso inscribed in early Pitman shorthand with what appears to be original composition and verse, contemporary roan over marbled boards, marbled endpapers, 8vo, (1); another, theology, belonging to M.F. ***les, Roborough House, [Devon], dated 1844, inscribed in ink manuscript over 120 pages with 12 separate explanations of Biblical parallels written by the Reverend Frederick Pym of Bickleigh, from 9th September, 1844 to 9th March, 1845, contemporary leather (spine perished but contents in situ), marbled endpapers and edges, 8vo, (1); a Victorian commonplace book, inscribed with selected prose and verse, some apparent original composition, quarter-filled on Superfine Bath paper, original wrappers, 4to, (1), [3]
