depicting a shepherdess with cattle conversing with a gentleman behind a cottage fence, unsigned, oil on panel, on the reverse impressed stamps 'R. DAVY - 83 NEWMAN ST', within a neoclassical fluted hollow frame, 38 cm x 30 cm.
Old re-paintings on the left edge (13 x 1.5 cm) and on the main tree's lower foliage (0.5 x 0.5 cm). Some craquelure and small loss in the sky. Stamps 'R. DAVY - 83 NEWMAN ST' dates the panel between 1822 and 1843. A possible signature under a deep yellowish varnish layer.
