When the E-type went out of production in 1975, for the first time in their history, Jaguar were left without a convertible in their range. This state of affairs would remain unchanged until the protests raised by American dealers reached a crescendo and Jaguar introduced the XJ-SC in 1984.

The XJ-SC actually left the Jaguar factory as a coupé, which was then converted into a cabriolet by Tickford. The model was one of the first to use the new AJ6 engine but was also available in V12 form. In 3.6 guise the model came, predominately, with the Getrag 5-speed manual transmission (around 85%) but was also available with an automatic option.

This 3.6 automatic example is described, by the vendor, as ready to use for the summer, for top-down motoring at its best. Finished in Arctic blue with magnolia leather, piped blue, the car has covered a, believed genuine, 96,000 miles and is complete with FSH and lots of paperwork. The car has been equipped with a rear seat conversion and is described as being in excellent condition throughout.

Offered complete with a new MOT and 5 months road tax , the car has been owned by the vendor for 17 years and he says it took him a long time to find such a fine example, which remains in superb condition. The car has been fully Waxoyled and comes complete with the valuable cherished registration XJS 300S.
