A Chinese Gilt-Bronze 'Qilin' Censer, 19th Century - A cast bronze vessel sculpted in the form of a recumbent East Asian mythical creature, identified as a Qilin. The censer features a stylized dragon-like head with an open mouth, short horns, a scaled neck, and hooves. A removable lid, also decorated, is situated on the creature's back. The surface displays extensive dark patination with coppery-red undertones and visible remnants of a faded gilt or lacquered finish.

Extensive dark patination with coppery-red undertones. Significant surface wear and oxidation consistent with considerable age and use. The gilt or lacquered finish is faded with visible remnants. No visible text or markings are discernible. Overall good antique condition.
