An Italian walnut cassone. 18th century, the hinged lid with a gadrooned edge, the well carved front with figures, lion masks and drapery, on lion's paw feet, height 55cm, width 143cm, depth 53cm. This cassonne is nicely presented, the lid has an older repaired triangular splice near the right hinge, otherwise just typical knocks and wear. Please see the additional images.
