The male figure, an ascetic or rishi, is seated in profile by a winding river or pond, clad in minimal green leaf-like attire and adorned with jewelry. A cobra is coiled nearby on the riverbank, while other birds, trees, and distant white domed structures complete the landscape under a blue sky.
