An Indian School Miniature Painting Depicting Sage Narad, 19th Century - An Indian School miniature painting on paper, 19th Century, depicting the revered Sage Narad (श्री नारद ऋषि), as identified by the Devanagari inscription in the upper right. The male figure, an ascetic or rishi, is seated in profile by a winding river or pond, clad in minimal green leaf-like attire and adorned with jewelry. A cobra is coiled nearby on the riverbank, while other birds, trees, and distant white domed structures complete the landscape under a blue sky.
