Details: The W129 SL arrived in 1989 and was charged with maintaining the reputation of an SL heritage, dating back to 1963 and the original 230SL Pagoda. Even more daunting was trying to replace the 107 SL, which had been in production from 1971 to 1989 and had a huge following. When the car did arrive it owed nothing to its predecessors, in the styling department, which was considered, by many, to be a very brave move. Gone were the squared off corners and slight dished hard top and in came sharp styling with a nose down, tail up stance, similar to the 124 saloon. The hood was now electric and the hard top was now much more manageable in much lighter materials. This example of the SL320 was purchased by its first owner Captain Hans Jorgen Rosenfeldt in Singapore in 1994, its was imported to uk by Paul Bagagwanath (his handyman) in august 2004 to their English home at Keith Hall.
The history file contains service invoices from 2004 to 2009 by MB Aberdeen, plus MoT certificates. The owner passed away at the end of 2009. the car was left stored at the hall until the estate was finalised. Following a tender sale the went to AWF car sales , Horsham. The car was purchased by the vendor in March 2012 but due to the lack of decent summer and store space , the car is now being offered for sale. While the car is a Factory RHD example, it does have a km speedometer, due to being originally supplied in Singapore. Comes complete with both tops, rear seats + lap belts. new cd /ipod socket hi-fi. alarm and immobiliser, wooden steering wheel, original wheels, in good condition with good matching tyres. Finished in factory black with black leather, the car is equipped with Air con (blows cold), power hood and is said to have good body work. Offered with 2 keys, owners manual, spare wheel and jack.
