A pair of Caughley 'Fisherman' pattern lobed dessert plates, circa 1780-8, transfer-printed in underglaze blue, printed S and impressed 'Salopian' marks, 17.5cm diameter; sold together with a Caughley tall Chelsea ewer in the same pattern, printed S mark, 9cm high (3) Provenance: The C.R. Pilkington Collection, exhibited at the Coalport China Works Museum. Condition:Ewer with chips and nibbles around rim and foot, with discolouration to the latter. Plates in good order.
