An interesting career, several times mentioned in dispatches. [e.g. LG 17.7.58 and 17.9.58] and Brevet Major for services.

Served under Sir Hugh Rose as DAQMG on 2nd Brigade Staff  (commanded by Brig. C. Stuart) in the Central India campaign - capture of Jhansi etc.

William Malcolm Leckie - born 1820; reached the rank of Colonel, Bombay Staff Corps (1868), and died in Southsea in 1909.
