Ethel Larcombe (née Laurato 1876-1940) - Three childrens books, Little Women, The Best of Intentions; and Poor Jack, each with Art Nouveau printed cloth covers, published by Blackie and Son, 28.5cm max (3) Ethel Larcombe was an early twentieth-century British children's book illustrator and designer. Larcombe's work was published in The Studio Magazine and her work was exhibited in the Prima Esposizione Internazionale d'Arte Decorativa Moderna in 1902 in Turin. Larcombe produced work for Talwin Morris, Art Director of Blackie and Son, Glasgow where the influence of Charles Rennie Mackintosh and the Glasgow School of artists can clearly be seen in her work.
