The MGC was produced from 1967 to August 1969, and was intended as a replacement for the Austin Healy 3000. The first engine to be considered was a six-cylinder version of the BMC B-Series, but the production versions used a 7 main bearing development of the C-Series that was also to be used for the Austin 3 Litre saloon. In twin SU carburettor form the MGC the engine produced 145 bhp at 5250 rpm. The body shell needed considerable revision in the engine bay and the floor pan, but externally the only differences were a distinctive bonnet bulge to accommodate the relocated radiator and a teardrop for carburettor clearance. It had different brakes from the MGB, 15 inch wheels, a lower geared steering rack and special torsion bar suspension with telescopic dampers. Like the MGB, it was available as a GT and Roadster. An overdrive gearbox or three-speed automatic gearbox were available as options. The car was capable of 120 mph and a 0–60 mph time of 10.0 seconds.

The 1969 MGC GT offered here is described by the vendor as an excellent car with an immaculate engine bay, fitted with overdrive, wire wheels, and a Webasto sunroof. The car has been owned by the vendor for two years, and in his ownership the front suspension has been rebuilt with polyurethane bushes, new shock absorbers, new front wheel bearings and new hubs. The rear axle has been rebuilt with new components by Heathrow Transmission in February 2020 at a cost of £1,500.

It is a perfect long distance tourer with lots of room for camping gear, and a big reserve of power with the 3 litre six cylinder engine. Very reliable and ready for its next continental journey. The previous owner was Anthony Hamilton, father of current world champion Lewis. The car comes with the owners hand book and workshop manual included. The vendor is only selling due to age and the he cannot do this powerful car justice.
