Children’s whitework, 19th century, and later Christening wear: comprising a child’s day dress featuring fine white work, probably Ayrshire, on the bodice, sleeves, dress front and hem; together with a second, less elaborate dress with embroidery to the bodice and frilled sleeves, pintucked skirt; a third dress with faggot stitching; a cream ribbed silk christening cloak with shawl collar; a plain lawn sash; a very long cream silk christening gown; a long lawn petticoat; a long christening gown made from 1930’s machine lace, probably cut from a wedding dress, and a heavy cream silk satin long petticoat (9)

More Information

A very few tiny breaks in the fillings on the dress, plus a half inch repair needed to the back seam. The second dress requires a repair to the waist seam. Wear to the hem on the third dress. Darn noted in the satin petticoat.
