A pair of mid Victorian gold gem-set earrings. Each designed as a tassel, suspended from a pear-shape foliate panel with oval-shape garnet and colourless gem floral highlight, to the geometric surmount. Length 7cms. Weight 6.3gms.

More Information

  • Overall condition fair to good. Some surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear.
  • Surmounts and fittings later adapted.
  • One earring with a large dent to reverse, one with a small dent to reverse.
  • Garnets are a dark purple hue, fairly well saturated, with good clarity.

  • Stones in good to fair condition with minor to moderate abrasions.

  • Colourless gems untested, possibly pastes.
  • Width 1.4cms.
  • Hook fittings for pierced ears.
