An unusual Coalport plate, circa 1885-90, of circular form with shell-detailed edges in gilt, the centre painted with a winged putto reclining in a seashell serving as a boat or resting place on the sea, holding a large leaf over its head, printed Coalport England Crown mark to reverse, numbered X475 in iron red, 24cm diameter Provenance: The C.R. Pilkington Collection, exhibited at the Coalport China Works Museum. Condition:Good condition with no damages or repairs.
