Jean Shepeard (British, 1904-1989): seven sketch books, containing over one hundred drawings, including a possible pencil portrait of Roy de Maistre (1894-1968), 22.5 by 17.5cm, de Maistre acted as an early mentor for Francis Bacon, both of whom exhibited with Jean Shepeard, together with other portraits, including a possible self portrait, all signed, some pages of indistinct handwritten notes.
