A late 18th/early 19th century, French, rolled paper reliquary, centered with an ink and wash portrait of a saint in oval gilt rolled paper frame, flanked by gilt and coloured rolled paper cornucopiae, with seven pockets labelled in French containing relics, in gilt frame, total height 19" (48cm), width 23" (58cm). Rolled paper reliquaries were made in convents as a devotional expression of faith.
