A Chinese Openwork Yellow Jade Carving with Bird and Foliage Motifs.
The piece is carved from translucent yellow jade, worked in openwork relief to form a cylindrical structure. The exterior is decorated with stylised birds shown in profile, their bodies rounded and softly modelled, with incised feather details. The birds are interspersed with scrolling foliage and leaves that pierce through to the interior, creating a layered, pierced effect.
