James Pardon (1792-1862) British. Portrait of Emily, Louisa and Mary Ann Maulkin, Oil on canvas, Signed and dated 1832, In a fine hollow gilt composition frame, 30" x 25" (76.2 x 63.5cm). Provenance: The Maulkin and King Families. Notes: The three sisters depicted were the daughters of Robert Maulkin, the owner of Maulkin Malsters of Bury St Edmunds. Emily (central figure) married Frederick King, a local brewer in 1852. King's St Edmunds brewery amalgamated with a brewery run by his business rival Edward Greene in 1887, becoming the well known company 'Greene King'.
