UNIQUE(?) HANDSTRUCK HOUSE OF COMMONS P.O. "H.C.S.W./1½D" IN CIRCLE ON COVER TO LLOYD GEORGE; Long April 1890 env. (some toning and slightly reduced at left) from London to "Lloyd George Esq., M.P., House of Commons SW" with Jubilee 1½d tied by part Squared Circle but redirected to Wales and so with a very fine "H.C.S.W./1½D" in circle nicely placed on the front. This is believed to be the only recorded example of this 1½d mark. (The similar 1d in circle HCSW mark is also known, and only two examples of that have been recorded. One of London's rarest Postage Due markings. [Ex David Trapnell, Cavendish Dec. 1995 lot 620; realised £544.] Unique?Cross Reference: POSTAGE DUE MARKS
