An important and interesting collection of memorabilia and ephemera late 19th/early 20th century mainly relating to Lieutenant Colonel Sir Albert Henry Hime, who had a distinguished career in Britain, Bermuda and South Africa (Natal Province). He was a road a bridge engineer and a Natal Statesman. Between 1899 and 1903, Hime was the Premier of the British Colony of Natal coinciding with the second Anglo Boer War. This Collection owned by Hime includes documents, photo albums, books relating to the siege of Ladysmith, The Battlefields of Natal Revisited, The Royal Tour 1901, share certificates and other items, contained within a leather suitcase. Provenance by direct family descent. All in worn condition including spines.
