'Royal Institution of Cornwall'. Bound in at the beginning of volume 1 'Objects and Laws of the Royal Institution of Cornwall.' 1829. W. Polyblank, Truro, 32 pages; Annual Reports,' 1830,31, & 32; 1835; 1837; 1838-42; 1844-55, a non-continuous run of twenty-two annual reports bound in two volumes, with the index to volumes 1831-1854, also bound in, many plates and fold out tables/sections, handsomely bound in contemporary style half calf, raised bands and title in gilt on the spine, marbled boards, the first work is signed and has corrections in the hand of 'Jonathan Couch'. Founded in 1818 as the Cornwall Philosophical Institution, reports were issued annually until 1863, after which date the title of the publication was changed to the 'Journal.' Early reports especially prior to 1838 are rare. Hewitt’s, 'General Index to the Journal & Reports of The Royal Institution of Cornwall' (1907), indicates that eleven 'reports' between the year 1819 and 1836 are missing from the institutions own collection. Boase & Courtney, states 'a set (reports) from 1838-1862 consists of parts'. Near fine copies.
