Crimea 1854-56, clasps, Balaclava, Sebastopol - Probably rode in the Charge of the Heavy Brigade.

To: R Allan Rl Scots Gr**s. (Privately engraved in upright capitals)
Condition - Fine, heavy wear to parts of naming, but still legible.

Robert Allen (Note spelling of surname) is recorded in Duttons book as Probably rode in the charge. Being on the musters and effective from the 1st to 25th of October he is likely to have rode. It is also noted that he was sent to Scutari Hospital on the 26th.
