Arthur Wren Lambert, cast iron shelves manufactured by Lucy & Co, Oxford, late 19th C. Provenance: Margaret Bide Collection. [The Compactor shelving system patented by A. W. Lambert was first used in Worcester Library, also adopted by The British Museum, Burlington House Linnean Society rooms, in 1901 they were in use in eleven national and public libraries. Lucy & Co were founded in 1812 and produced ornamental iron work].

All good condition, most elements having undergone professional restoration while in Miss Bides ownership. please see extra images of the elements. The height is approx 220 cm and the width of the two bays is approx 260 cm. The shelving was dismantled for removal.
