Polished red calf boards, raised bands with bright gilt lettering and decoration to spines and boards. Hastings Grammer School insignia gilt embossed to front cover, prize bookplate presented to H.E. Shoresmith to front pastedown of first volume. Marbled edges and endpapers. Endpapers loosening. Some insect damage to spines, particulary on volume 2. Foxing to several front and rear leaves, else pages are clean and clear with light toning.
