A late 19th century silver and gold, ruby and diamond brooch. Of oval outline, the vari-cut diamond floral cluster, with vari-shape ruby and similarly-cut diamond petal openwork surrounds. Estimated total diamond weight 2.20cts, principal diamond estimated I-J colour, P2 clarity. Length 4.6cms. Total weight 16.1gms. With case.

  • Overall condition good. Surface scratches/wear in keeping with general age and wear.
  • One red stone is paste.
  • Some stones replacement.
  • May be worn as pendant.
  • Diamond fairly well matched.
  • Diamonds fairly bright.

  • Estimated principal diamond weight 0.20ct.
  • Principal diamond has a large cleavage under the crown facets.
  • Individual size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment for smaller diamonds.

  • Rubies are a medium pinkish red, well saturated, with good clarity and typical inclusions.
  • Rubies in fair to good condition with some abrasion, nibbles and nicks to the girdle and facet edges.
