A pair of Chinese cloisonne elephants and riders 19th Century The large mottled greyish lilac enamelled animals with gilt tusks and ears, each turning their heads left and right and wearing dark blue foliate harnesses, a saddle cloth over the beasts backs for the seated figures decorated with cranes in flight, the riders wearing long robes decorated with scrolling lotus on a turquoise ground and ogee brimmed gilt hats, one holding a ruyi-septre in his hand, all detachable. 30cm high (2) Provenance:Private Cheshire collection.
