A FINE GEORGE III GENTLEMAN'S MAHOGANY AND BOXWOOD STRUNG WASHSTAND. the crossbanded top opening to reveal a fitted interior with ratcheted mirror, flanked by various compartments, some removeable and lidded with turned ivory handles, two glass cologne bottles and pin cushion; the single drawer below containing the original porcelain wash bowl and two large glass cologne bottles with engraved monogram, the frontage with unusual later (Victorian) grafitti of children and horses, upon square tapering supports and brass casters, height 88cm, width 64cm, depth 51cm

Restored with repairs and repolishing, slight warping to one section of the top (does not close fully flat), shrinkage splits to top and split to one side, old marks, wash bowl broken and repaired, some fading, some splits to interior, silvering to mirror plate, cologne bottles original and in very good condition, all matching and with stoppers.
